Barbwires and Loss

Willie Nelson – Amazing Grace

This post stems from this. A film that looks like a masterpiece waiting to be recognized. It also springs desolate thoughts and memories from back. Army days. Behind the scenes, I would orchestrate the messengers. To dispatch the unfathomable missive to families. Ten years removed, I imagined it to be a forgotten part of my history. Repressed to nothing but a tiny fleck of light that would be turned off completely in a matter of a year or two. And then a movie trailer manages to cause a minor turmoil in my stomach. Figurative barbwires tearing inside. Making me contemplate loss. And feel again.
